Strikebound

The ship’s side gapes,
its unhealed wound still bare;
no caulker’s tool
is splitting compressed air.
Where rustblood drips
from yet unplated frames
no pyrotechnic
welders sign their names.

A crane hook yawns
as with the wind it sways
and, metronomic,
whiles aways its days.
