Donna,
madonna,
woman of metal
and rust
Beatrice, working hard,
mystical inspiration,
metal looped intestine and
noodle hair waving about
your wing-nut face,
you are standing—
leaning,
leaning into the job
on your crowbar leg, the foot
like a single cloven hoof,
your great metal hip,
a sturdy double-bolted pelvis
on a gracefully curved,
gently dividing thigh.
Mysterious signs are
buried there under the rust,
and you carry on the Spanish bracket
of your only shoulder
that strange ladder with
its ten circular rungs
for me,
for me to climb
to 
the 
heavens.
